The Sassenach is the first whisky launched by Sam Heughan (who you may know as the actor who plays Jamie Fraser on hit sci-fi TV show Outlander), inspired by picturesque Highland landscapes. Expect waves of butterscotch, fresh citrus and warming spices from this tasty blended Scotch whisky.
Fresh apricot and orange, with a drizzle of caramel and a slow build of cinnamon.
Waves of honey and vanilla fudge, dotted with raisin, almond and another helping of cinnamon spiciness.
Lasting nutmeg, citrus oils and toffee.
At the beginning you say to yourself "he attacks" but then he gives chills just thinking about it
After 2 months of waiting, it arrived today to me en Spain!!! Love the taste and the smoothness, I’m not a whiskey drinker but this something else, the after taste is long and lovely
I have been a scotch drinker since my early twenties because I thought scotch on the rocks sounded “cool”. Went from Cuevas to Pinch to Johnny Walker Black. I then moved on to MacAllen,Oban,Balvenie and Laphroaig. Sassenach sits right up there with the best of them. Pleasant nose smooth taste. I should mention I now drink my Whisky nice and neat
You would be stretching it to say this is even worth £25, a pleasant enough blend with a huge celebrity mark up on the price. I would say the reviews on here are mainly from Outlander and Sam Heughan fans and not whisky fans.
Aroma was pleasant and inviting. Not harsh like some others I've sniffed. First sip surprised me. Love the way it coats the throat. I truly could distinguish some of the blend...honey, vanilla and cinnamon at first. Since I'm not a hard liquor drinker it will take me a few drams to get the full enjoyment, but I will. My son was truly surprised as to how good it was. Plan to savor this wonderful whisky down here in New Orleans, Louisiana.
