Released for the travel retail market, The Macallan Whisky Maker's Edition was crafted using whisky drawn from a combination of sherry and bourbon casks. Fresh fruit and chewy toffee notes bring sweetness, which is balanced with touches of spicy ginger and a waft of smoke.

A great mix of sweet and spice. I usually go for Islay whiskies and this was my first Macallan. The depth of flavours in this meant that I didn't miss the peat and I will definitely be trying more Macallans.

I had this and then followed it up with a Macallan 12 year old sherry oak. The Whiskey Makers Edition had much more flavor {particularly sherry and slice) and a longer finish. If you like the "standard" Macallan, then you will love this one.
has a tiring sherry taste. buy the cheaper and better Glenfarclas 12 instead
Great dram, perfect amount of sweetness for my palate. Very good fruit notes. This is one of my favourites. I really wish it was more available in my city.
