Macallan Rare Cask #1 '18

The first bottling of The Macallan Rare Cask since the distillery changed up how it would be releasing this expression. The Rare Cask will now be released in a series of small batches each year (three batches for 2018, four batches for subsequent years), with each batch being a vatting of 50 sherry butts. These also feature a handsome new design of the Rare Cask packaging.

This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!

Tasting Note by The Producer

Nose Soft notes of opulent vanilla and raisin pique the nose, giving way to a sweet ensemble of apple, lemon and orange.

Palate Oak resonates, timeless, polished and rich. Vanilla and chocolate lead the finale along with a light citrus zest.

Finish Full and warming.

Reviews for The Macallan Rare Cask - Batch No.1 (2018 Release)
Exclusive taste and presentation, and priced accordingly. I wish I could have bought more...
Rich and full, with loads of vanilla and sweet dried fruits and some balanced oak that gives a feeling of proper age. One of the best NAS releases I have tasted from Macallan. A bit expensive, but competes easily with 18 year old expressions. Too bad this sold out immediately, hopefully the later patches will have the same taste, but as we have often noticed, the first one is there to make an impression and quality goes down from that...
