Reviews for The Macallan 10 Year Old Fine Oak
Spicy but perfect
Been drinking Scotch for 8 years but haven't tried much outside of Speyside honestly. This 10yr fine oak to me brings a lot of spice and heat to the mouth. Not so much the lingering burn down the throat top end scotch brings. For some reason I don't taste/smell much of the vanilla some others do. BUT it has a nice SPICED initial hit with fruity tones and a quick linger.

Summertime Delight
After 30+ years of drinking bourbon I thought I would foray into Scotch. My first bottle was a Glenfiddich 12 yo which was a bit coarse but more enjoyable than most bourbons. My next was a Macallan 10 FO, and I was amazed by the difference: light, smooth... summery. I’ll definitely try others but this I believe will be my summertime dram... living in N. Florida that means 9 mos. out of the year. Cheers!

Very nice
First Macallan I tasted and when drunk side by side with the 12 Fine Oak the youth of the 10 shines through. If you like bourbon cask whisky this is not a bad choice. Now a treasured bottle bought at £50 2 yards back, slim chance another would follow. Definitely one to taste if the chance comes up and the taste does grow on you.

Rose on the nose
Smooth... Fruity for sure... on the nose I get rose. Not seen many whiskey with rose on the nose. Not complex very simple. It is like drinking white wine.

Exceptionally smooth
Very smooth, surprised by the low ratings. Perfect sweetness and not too charred.

Unique and very enjoyable
I'm wondering what The Chaps are drinking. Rubbed petals? Marmalade?
I mostly review undestilled beer, but here goes...
Vanilla, virgin white oak and a modest measure of peaty loch water in the nose. No bourbon here; just loads of vanilla and that light peat component. Medium-bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel. More peat, toffee, vanilla and fa light splash of white and dry fortified wine in the flavor. Lingering fuzzy fruit in the warming finish. BAM.

For $40 very happy
Got this much cheaper than posted on here and I'm loving it. Has a lovely pear flavor thatReminds me of glenlivet 12 but more oak, smoother and with some nice sherry notes. If you can get this cheaper it is great but I don't know if I would pay over $70 for this it is a 10 year. The sugarbear

Not Too Bad
This is my first try of this brand. It is better then a 16 yr old from another maker I have had. Good nose and holds up well in the $50 range. It has a very strong spirit finish that lingers, reminds me that I am drinking Scotch. I like it.
