The second release from the Macallan Edition series is a collaboration between Master Whisky Maker Bob Dalgarno and the three brothers behind El Celler de Can Roca (named Best Restaurant in the World twice by Restaurant magazine). This single malt was drawn from a combination of European and American oak casks.

Mocha, brown sugar, a spark of ginger and some oak-y warmth.
Notes of Sherried raisins and dried citrus peels develop, a hint of vegetal oak. Still a little chocolate-y.
Spiced fruit cake and lemon peels.

The Macallan Edition 2 is an extraordinary scotch with a very unique flavor profile. It's also very affordable! Oranges, dried fruit and a little bit of apple are forefront, providing a spicy palate that carries over into a lengthy, complex and wonderful finish. For Macallan lovers, grab a bottle before it's gone, because it's an experience you're sure to love and happy you didn't miss out!

Simply amazing! One of my favorite new scotches. I have both the Edition 1, which I like a lot (I stocked up for fear they run out), and now the Edition 2, which I believe is even more complex than Macallan's first edition -- in a very good way. I only have what's left of one bottle of this and I will certainly be buying another to add to my collection. What I love most about these new special editions from Macallan is they offer flavors and complexity not found in the "gold standard" Macallan 12. I cannot wait for Edition 3!
