The Macallan Edition No.2

The second release from the Macallan Edition series is a collaboration between Master Whisky Maker Bob Dalgarno and the three brothers behind El Celler de Can Roca (named Best Restaurant in the World twice by Restaurant magazine). This single malt was drawn from a combination of European and American oak casks.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Mocha, brown sugar, a spark of ginger and some oak-y warmth.

Palate Notes of Sherried raisins and dried citrus peels develop, a hint of vegetal oak. Still a little chocolate-y.

Finish Spiced fruit cake and lemon peels.

Best.one.yet!
Perfectly discribes my feelings, best whisky I ever tasted:
Get this one before they are all gone like edition no 1. Sweet spiciness and lingering creaminess. Tasting notes above really close to my palate, and the nose is heaven.

Bought it @ Macallen Distillery after tasting. Wanted to buy 2, but only one left one the bloody site..

U got to give it to Macallan
Macallan has been into a lot of NAS, a lot of fine oak. But with edition No.1 & this No.2 they make a compelling comeback. Sherry. Classic. Spiced. Cut above the rest.
This one is quite robust and excellent flavours. Ginger spice, mix of first/refill sherry casks, slightly higher ABV all make it work. Doesnt matter if its a NAS. Still a great whisky. One of my favourites for 2016 new whisky of the year.

Spicy, fruity and complex
The Macallan Edition 2 is an extraordinary scotch with a very unique flavor profile. It's also very affordable! Oranges, dried fruit and a little bit of apple are forefront, providing a spicy palate that carries over into a lengthy, complex and wonderful finish. For Macallan lovers, grab a bottle before it's gone, because it's an experience you're sure to love and happy you didn't miss out!

Complex, Tasty and very Collectible
Simply amazing! One of my favorite new scotches. I have both the Edition 1, which I like a lot (I stocked up for fear they run out), and now the Edition 2, which I believe is even more complex than Macallan's first edition -- in a very good way. I only have what's left of one bottle of this and I will certainly be buying another to add to my collection.

What I love most about these new special editions from Macallan is they offer flavors and complexity not found in the "gold standard" Macallan 12. I cannot wait for Edition 3!
