The Macallan Distil Your World series is made in collaboration with the Roca brothers - founders of El Cellar de Can Roca, twice named Best Restaurant in the World! This edition sees lead whisky maker Euan Kennedy join the Roca brothers on a deep dive into the energy and complexity of Hong Kong, creating a whisky with a vibrant and varied profile to reflect the ever-changing, dynamic nature of the city.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
Rich, resinous and sweet. Aromas of decadent ginger and spices, balanced by vibrant tropical characteristics like pomelo and mango. Subtle suggestions of Hong Kong style egg tart, fragrant honey, and incredible antique oak.
Palate
Viscous and mouth coating at first, bright tropical sweetness is followed by beautiful ginger and rounded spices providing great structure. Gentle waves of aged oak, grapefruit and an umami like depth.
Finish
Vibrant antique oak continues to shine.
