The Macallan Anecdotes of Ages Collection: Down to Work is a collaborative effort between the Speyside-based distillery and Sir Peter Blake, shining a light on a story from Macallan's past. It pays tribute to George Harbinson, who made the call in the 1970s for Macallan to continue using sherry seasoned casks (we think you'll agree, it was very much the right call for the distillery). The whisky within the bottle was distilled back in 1967, and long matured in sherry seasoned casks, while the labels feature artwork by Sir Peter Blake. Not only that, but the presentation box is modelled on Blake's own art supply box, further bringing the two worlds of art and whisky together.
Classic antique oak, dried fruit and fig combined with hints of pineapple and mango layered with a decadent chocolate strawberry note.
Warm chocolate with light nutmeg and ginger, oak spices and sweet oak opening into pineapple and coconut with an unexpected strawberry and hazelnut burst.
Complex with a medium to long finish of chocolate, sweet oak and lightly spiced peach.
