The Macallan A Night on Earth: The First Light

Macallan's A Night On Earth series heads to New Zealand for its fourth instalment – The First Light. Featuring a collaboration with New Zealand artist Bonnie Brown, this edition commemorates the perhaps little-known fact that folks in New Zealand are the first in the world to celebrate New Year's Day! This release combines first-fill and refill sherry cask-matured whisky, alongside a sparing portion matured in American oak bourbon barrels, bringing mellow sweetness alongside rich fruit and spice.

    Tasting Note by The Producer

    Nose

Caramel hints of fired icing sugar suggest Christmas pavlova and coconut. There is also a fleeting scent of Manuka honey, unique in character and indigenous to New Zealand.

    Palate

Rich caramel with mellow baking spices, vanilla ice cream, pavlova, icing sugar, stone fruits and a subtle hint of coconut and manuka honey.

    Finish

Sweet and fruity with mellow spice and toasted oak.
