The Macallan 30 Year Old 1988 - Exceptional Single Cask
A hugely impressive 30 year old Macallan single malt here, released as part of the Exceptional Single Cask series, and selected by Macallan whisky maker Sarah Burgess. This expression was laid down to slumber in an American oak sherry butt back in April 1988, which was eventually emptied three decades later in September 2018. Just 130 bottles were produced.

Nose
Ginger, lightly peated, wood spices, vanilla, raisins.
Palate
Peat, citrus, biscuity, spicy, ginger and orange.
Finish
Warming and spicy.
