Very fruity, with notes of orange and pear on the nose. Also has a good dollop of sweet spices which develop into an almost smoky character. The sherry on the nose is refined and well balanced, with hints of honey and caramel.
Textbook malt delivery which gives way to a mouthful of dried apricots, prunes and figs. Hints of nutmeg and cinnamon weave in and out of an epic whack of honey that only a Speyside distillery of this kind of nobility can produce.
A long, full finish that carries fig, spices, chewy oak and a touch of light smoke.

I received a bottle of Mac 25 for my birthday. I couldn't believe it and thanked the Gods. I have it in the wood box in a prominent place to just look at it. Much like romancing a woman. I can't rush into this opening, but will pick my moment as I think this love will be a very long one.

I bought bottles of 25 year old Macallan in the 1980's for no more than £47 per bottle. Even taking into account inflation, this is a ludicrous price for this whisky.
Wonderful. Good nose and pallet. Smooth Finish. Highly recommended. I emphasize smooth and very satisfying. Great stuff. Very special.
I have seriously considered getting one bottle of Mac 25 s.o. However considering the price.... I could have gone for : Mac 18 s.o + old pulteney 21&17+ kavalan Sherry oak+aberlour 18 + a set of 6 glencairn glasses. Based on this alone, I don't understand anyone buying a bottle of this instead of the above.
