Another year, another greatly anticipated 18 year old Macallan single malt matured in Sherry casks from Jerez, Spain. This is the 1996 vintage and it's just as gorgeous as previous bottlings.

Soft, plump raisins, ginger snaps dusted with cinnamon and vanilla creaminess. Oak in the background.
Stewed apples, again dusted with cinnamon. The oak from the nose develops. Clove and hints of orange peel.
Lasting notes of toffee, raisin and that final hint of oak.
A top-notch dram, rich and satisfying.
Same comment as above. Macallan should sell this to China and charge them double. I changed my favour to Balvenie which is far better in quality at this price level.
Very close to the 12 year standard. Color and taste much lighter than the 1995. Slightly disappointing for me. In my oppinion overpriced now.
