A well-sherried 13 year old Macallan here, selected by Macallan whisky maker Sarah Burgess and bottled up for the Exceptional Single Cask series. This one was filled into a European oak sherry butt back in April 2005, and left to age for 13 years until May 2018. A release of 483 bottles.
Creamy vanilla, crème brûlée, almond, marzipan, baked pear, tart fruitiness, ginger.
Nutmeg, sweet, dry, spicy, cinnamon, apple tart.
Medium, sweet with wild berry.
