An older bottling of the Macallan 10 Year Old, matured exclusively in sherry casks and released in the late 2000s. Whether you're feeling nostalgic, or adding to a collection, this is a great find.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!

“55 years I hated whisky. Then one night I was at the Thainstone Hotel, Inverurie, enjoying a Guiness. There were rows and rows of Macallan. May be it was the open fire, but some reason I said, "I'll try a Macallan please," One sip was a life-changing moment. It was absolutely beautiful. Some months later I took my wife to Aberdeen and showed her The Grill. At that time it had 384 whiskys. The barman informed me that Macallan 10 year old was easily their best seller and I could not help but smile and nod. ”

Awesome!
Both were good but I gotta say this one is more smoth.
Sublime whisky that always makes me feel warm inside. The description given here is a little OTT, but not far off . It does have a wonderful creamy thickness that glides down the throat. The 10yr old Sherry Oak is more sophisticated than the 10yr Fine Oak and it's always been more expensive. The depth of the whisky varies according to my mood.
You can't justify the price for this 10 year old no way
Such a lovely whisky(as described below/previously)just like liquid fruit cake, mellow smooth not fiery. I have tried it against the 12 year old and it is much better more complex, I just wish the distillery would start making it again the price has shot up since production stopped. Please Please Macallan distillery (if you are listening)just start making it again, none of your new whisky's comes near it. Mr Macpherson Huntly Aberdeenshire
