Stratheden - Archivist's Selection (The Lost Distillery Company)
The is the Stratheden expression from The Lost Distillery Company's Archivist's Selection, a blended malt (made with some longer-aged whiskies than their Classic Selection). The company research many aspects of closed distilleries (like Stratheden) and try to create a representation of what their whisky could taste like. We think that's awesome. Almost a bit 'Jurassic Park' like, except without all the rampaging dinosaurs or Jeff Goldblum.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Flaky pastry dotted with dried fruit and candied ginger. Hints of earthy tobacco later on.
Palate
Caramel-coated biscuits, salted butter and a good whack of nutmeg.
Finish
Spiciness continues long on the finish.
