The Lost Distillery Company specialises in researching long-closed distilleries and using that research to create blended malt Scotch whiskies that they reckon could taste like what said closed distillery produced. This one was based on research into the Auchnagie distillery, which closed all the way back in 1911!
Cider apples, dry oak, a hint of soot and some orange oil.
More vanilla-forward than the nose, though fresh apple notes remain.
Cinnamon and apricot, with a touch of peat smoke.
