This single malt was the first to join The Lakes Whiskymaker’s Editions series! It's called Colheita (pronounced 'col-yate-a'), which means 'harvest' in Portuguese, and is also a type of Port. You can probably see where this is going – alongside a small proportion of bourbon barrels, casks which previously held Colheita Port have been used to mature this single malt. Something a little different from the sherry fans over at The Lakes!
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Lots of red fruit, with spiced plum, forest berries and oily orange peel.
More of those plums on the palate, leading into dried fruit, fig and sweet oak spice.
A creamy finish with a suggestion of vanilla alongside cinnamon.

A massive diversion from sherry-led Whiskymakers Reserve but an equally stunning whisky that defies its age!
I think I was thoroughly spoilt with the sublime No 3 which is out of stock, but this is very different. I didn’t get the cream, there’s a Tannin woodiness which dominates, not as smooth as I’d hoped.
