The Glenlivet gave its range a glow up in 2014, but this bottle of its 12 Year Old single malt was released before that time, offering a green-tinted window into the past.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Sweet creamy vanilla, honey, pineapple, vanilla, pressed apples and a little cinnamon.
Apple cores, fresh and fruity trifle and creamy citrus.
Long and delicious, almonds and apple.
One of the best selling malts in the world, well-worth re-visiting.

Had the 15 and one of the sherry cask versions and found them luxurious, an absolute delight, so had high hopes for this one. First sip was disappointment. Its true it has a lovely flowery nose and fills the mouth immediately with fresh green apple skin a perfumed pear, but where is the finish? Its so so short. I grabbed this with a tenner off so £28 and still felt short changed. Won't revisit.
Silky, warm elegance!
I think the nose leans more toward cinnamon, and vanilla. At 80 proof, this is a dram for enjoying all evening. The perfect scotch for someone who is just getting into discovering all this beverage has to offer. I would recommend trying it neat then experimenting with water or ice. Going that experimentation process I discovered that for my liking this dram is perfect neat. Cheers!
Generally this is where everyone starts, it's drinkable and average. Every year it'll taste a little different.
The Glenlivet 12 is a solid Speyside malt, easy to drink, affordable and deserves the fame that surrounds it. I always make my ratings according to the price I have paid for it. £28.
