An 8 year old Glenlivet, matured in a first fill Sherry butt from March 2007 to June 2015. This comes presented by new independent bottlers Edinburgh Whisky Ltd. as part of their Library Collection - one of two whiskies which served as the range's inaugural releases. 755 bottles were produced.
Sherried malt, diced almonds and crushed hazelnuts. Developing spiciness along the way.
Enjoyably buttery. Banana bread, ginger and fudge all play a part.
Lasting hints of red fruit.
A luxurious tasting whisky, with hints of rich fruitcake, vanilla & ginger. I look forward to tasting more from the people at Edinburgh Whisky, in the meantime this delicious Glenlivet ticks all the boxes.
This is an exceptional bottling, richly deserving its award from Whisky Magazine, perfect balance between youth and sherry. I believe only 755 bottles available so one for grabbing. I delayed putting that review up as I wanted it all for myself but felt it had to be shared.
