Glasgow 1770 - Tequila Cask Finished
A limited release from the Glasgow Distillery, this unpeated single malt was distilled in October 2018 and filled into ex-bourbon casks for an initial maturation. At the start of 2021, the whisky was transferred to an ex-Tequila cask, where it remained until bottling in June 2022, having taken on some superb notes of honeyed herbs and exotic fruit. A release of just 295 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Fresh vanilla pod and orange oil, juicy orchard fruits, and more tropical notes of mango, with floral malt and set honey.
Palate
Full of fruit with crisp apple, juicy pear, and summer berries opening the way for dashes of lime. Sweet notes of cinder toffee and millionaire's shortbread, and more fresh vanilla.
Finish
Soft spices creep in with a touch of cinnamon and anise balanced by soft sponge and runny caramel.
