Unfortunately, we can't ship The Gladstone Axe American Oak to the United States at the moment, but we've got some friends who can.
The Gladstone Axe is a blend of Highland malt whiskies, selected from 14 different distilleries and matured in American oak. The label has a portrait of William Gladstone, posing with an axe, because as well as serving four terms as prime minister of the United Kingdom in the 1800s, he apparently had a passion for tree felling!
Nose: Sweet biscuity malt and soft, drying oak, with caramel and vanilla.
Palate: Poached apples, barley sugars, and custard cream biscuits.
Finish: Sweet toasted oak with wafts of honey and vanilla and a gentle peppery finish.
