Launched in 2016 by The English Distillery, England's oldest registered whisky distillery, The English range features a pair of English single malt whiskies - this is the Original expression, showing off a creamy, vanilla-rich flavour profile.
Zesty orange, vanilla custard, grassy malt.
Nuttier than the nose, with notes of almond and hazelnut. Milk chocolate, more orange.
Rich barley and a handful of spices.
Never heard of this whiskey before. I was gifted a bottle from my Dad and it’s a beautiful whiskey, very smooth and delicious. I would highly recommend to any whiskey drinker.
I was intrigued by the fact it was English and having read that it was bottled at a healthy 43%, was non chill filtered and of natural colour, I proceeded to purchase. I think I detected banana as well as the citrus and vanilla mentioned in the notes. There is little or no burn to speak of, the texture being smooth and on the dry side. I have only had it straight so far, so cannot comment on how water or ice would change or compliment it. My preference in whisky tends to be Islay and other peated brands, but having tried this, I would recommend it as an easy laid back drink. I would be happy to receive/give it as a gift.
this is an absolute must for first time whisky drinkers , smooth and delicate and not overpowering at all , this will be a go to bottle as an introduction to fellow whisky virgins for then to try. Spot on and perfect for those new to the world of whisky .
I have never heard of this before. However, one of my clients presented a bottle of this. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. Absolute top class.
Better than most whisky made in Scotland
