From Macduff distillery, this is a single malt you may know as Glen Deveron, but a new range of expressions and new packaging in September 2015 also saw a change of name to The Deveron. This is the 12 year old.
Sweet baking spice, toffee apples and ginger.
A core of butterscotch with waxy malt and apple pie.
Wood spice, vanilla and soft oakiness.
A new-look core expression for a single malt that's rightly getting more attention.

This is a smooth whiskey with excellent nose and very fine taste for those who prefer a Highland dram. Excellent at the Canadian price point and soon to become a favourite
I usually enjoy smokey whiskey but this one was a surprise I really like the after taste with the smooth vanilla taste.
One of the best looking and feeling bottles about. The nose is lingering. Sweet on palate and aftertaste. Good but not exceptional. Still befuddled as to whether this is Highlands or Speyside. Label says Highlands but Mcduff is Speyside please somebody explain
the first time I tasted it I really enjoyed it I,ery smooth and a nice m a whiskey drinker , but my wife is not but she had a taste and enjoyed it.this was a bottle bought in Sweden,by my son who lives in Norway while we were holidaying their for a fortnight. We have not found any in three super markets in Scunthorpr. One more to go.lets hope i,m lucky.
Not bad at all, is my final thought. The sugary sweetness, that was so in evidence initially, seems to have evaporated and the Deveron 12 has earned itself another star. Quite a learning experience and, in fact, I may very well be tempted to try a second bottle. Cheers.
