‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Notes of freshly baked bread, lots of honey and a smidge of orange marmalade, supported by slightly tart stewed apple with a sprinkle of brown sugar.
Warming and spicy, with more of that floral honey and baked crumble topping, alongside crunchy, underripe apple and pear.
A prickle of spice, toffee and vanilla pod linger alongside a slightly mineral note.

First whisky of the advent calendar - it was the worst of all of them
I much prefer a blended to a single malt in general, and this one is very fine indeed. No harsh notes, a bit of sweetness, a tang of fruit, a warm hug but no burn. Add a tiny drop of water and the spice really opens up, chilli and fresh ginger which lingers to a long, warming finish. Superb.
Not your average whiskey. Unfortunately not in a Good way. There’s a subtlety sweet smell on the nose which is combined with a smell that is slightly oily/chemical in nature which isn’t pleasant. It tastes like it’s trying to be all things to all men and what you get is something of a mess.
Nose, a bit chemical. Taste, hot ginger and not a lot more. Would be good with coke bit not on its own
Sample as part of the Advent Calendar. Not unpleasant but to be honest not much at all apart from some ginger on the finish. I found it disappointing.
