The ghosts have gathered once again - that can only mean it's time for batch 3 of Speyside #3 from That Boutique-y Whisky Company! This is a 6 year old single malt from one of the many distilleries in the Speyside region - though no indication as to which one is responsible has been given. Could the label hold some hints? Or is it simply a spectral red herring?
Batch 3 is a release of 1,277 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Clementine, caraway and a hint of baked bread with butter.
Waves of runny toffee and honey, alongside some crunchy brown sugar and flaky filo pastry.
Lingering kitchen herb savoury notes remain.
I was quite impressed by this young whisky. Whilst the artwork for some whiskies from this brand are more interesting than the liquid itself, I was far more blown away by the whisky with it's sweet, sweet complexity. I love the real air of mystery to it also. I would highly recommend grabbing a bottle...if one's still available.
