The folks at Santa Fe Spirits in New Mexico used locally sourced mesquite wood to smoke the malted barley used to make this intriguing American single malt. Mesquite is popular in the barbecue world, beloved for its distinctive, sharp, smoky character. Matured in a new American oak barrel for four years, the whisky was independently bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company to join its World of Smoke collection.
Batch 2 is a release of 294 bottles.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles limited edition whiskies from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Cooked apples with plenty of sweet spice, drizzles of warm caramel, and fragrant notes of polished wood and charred potpourri.
Palate
Hearty helpings of fruits and spices open the way, with peppery oak, cloves, and ginger balanced by jammy dark plums and anise.
Finish
Woody spice lingers, with notes of liquorice, and toffee apples.
