A whiskey lovely enough to shower with sugar lumps and regularly take to the horse dentist - yes, it's the second batch of That Boutique-y Whisky Company's Irish Single Malt #1! Spectacular 13 year old single malt from an undisclosed Irish distillery, boasting oodles of fruit notes. It really is lovely, lovely, lovely whiskey.
Batch 2 is a release of 2,200 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Seriously fruity. Lots of creamy apricot, raspberry, strawberry, and apple. Floral and grassy, freshly cut hay notes, Shredded Wheat breakfast cereal.
Apple and apricot again, along with sweet spices: cinnamon, a touch of nutmeg and even some root ginger. Some darker fruits creep in too: plums and figs. Slightly hoppy. Creamy, mouth-filling texture.
More apricot and lots of wood spices.
An abundantly fruity Irish single malt!
Better than a 2 star whiskey; not as good as a 4 star whiskey. 2 1/2 for the whiskey. 1/2 a bonus star for the horse.
Really young, does not seem like a 13yo. Fruity and grassy, with something that remembers turf, which is different for an Irish Whisky. Full of personality and taste its a very well made whisky that only lacks maturity. The finish is short and not much interesting. Not good for the price but very good in general.
