Campbeltown 6 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)
Back for a second batch, it's a six year old expression of Campbeltown Blended Malt from That Boutique-y Whisky Company. Finished in Oloroso sherry casks, it's brimming with rich, fruit and spice. The label shows similar mayhem to Batch 1, with a town that appears to have been overrun with highland cows and spoons! We think the spoons might relate to a certain technique used for blending whisky, but we're not sure and certainly don't want to upset the folks on the label – they look cross enough as it is, waving their arms and tearing their hair out in the foreground of the scene.
Batch 2 is a release of 363 bottles.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Savoury herbs and a touch of hay, suggestions of dried meats lead to buttery honeyed bread, dried stone fruits, a hint of ginger.
Palate
Sweet, nutty malt aplenty, with good spicy notes of cinnamon and pepper balanced by some zesty citrus peel and poached fruit.
Finish
Spicy warmth lingers, ginger continues alongside cinnamon with rich, peppery oak leading to toasted nuts.
