Bourbon Whiskey #1 24 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)

The first batch of Bourbon Whiskey #1 bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company has arrived, and it's an incredibly well aged 24 year old expression! The label shows a peaceful scene at Area 51, complete with a sign saying "Nothing to see here", which has to be true. It's on a sign. You can't lie on signs. Nope, nothing out of the ordinary to see - apart from maybe that bottle-shaped crop circle... And that Bigfoot... And that alien...

‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Rich, earthy vanilla pod and coffee bean notes arrive first, supported by vibrant notes of orange oil, brandy-soaked raisins and dark chocolate.

    Palate

The vanilla notes continue on the palate, now with jammy red berries, maple syrup and freshly made pancakes.

    Finish

A good kick of baking spices appear on the finish. Still enjoyably buttery.

It’s not JT Stagg senior. But it bloody good!

It’s a tiny bit sweet on the nose, very caramel lead which follows on to the palate. But don’t be fooled by this! It becomes so complexed in flavours it’s Like the first time.( of anything good) once you feel the heat of the alcohol the finish is calmer with balanced spices such as the classics.( although I did have it with a cinnamon and apple pie with it) so I may have been influenced in this last statement

    Pleasantly Suprised!

This was simply sublime! The abv is high but does not taste or give a nose of a 48% strength bourbon. What you get is a sweet but rich taste that lingers and leaves a almost of caramel and buttery finish. £200 is steep but this is for those very special occasions when only the nest will do.

    Nice but not £200

A nice bourbon. Definitely not worth the price difference between kings county distillery cask strength or Booker bourbon.

    Really smooth

This really is lovely stuff - rich, smooth, sweet. Very easy to love.

    Heaven Hill?

If this isn't Heaven Hill then I'm the pope. Really good stuff as well, now on my second bottle.
