"You come to Scotland, yer getting battered", the brilliant words of Allaster McKallaster, much adored for his self-described 'unbiased', and utterly hilarious Scottish football commentary. But not true if you're a grain of barley, no one batters barley, in fact, the moment Scots folk set eyes on a grain of barley, they distill it! Precisely what happened here, and what we end up with is a superb blended Scotch whisky from That Boutique-y Whisky Company, released in collaboration with the beloved McKallaster, right in time for the Euros! The whisky itself is 100% Scottish, though the folks at Boutique-y reckon it's probably spent a bit of time knocking about in a European oak cask before bottling, and it's got a gold top that's almost as shiny as the European Cup itself. Ya beauty.
A release of 304 bottles.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles limited edition whiskies from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blends, all adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels. The brand won Spirits Bottler of the Year at the 2023 Spirits Business Awards, and Blender of the Year went to Sam Simmons, captain of the Boutique-y clan who oversees every one of these releases.
