It's another batch of Blended Malt #1 from That Boutique-y Whisky Company, and once again the Boutique-y bunch has bottled up a cracking teaspooned malt (meaning it almost entirely comes from one distillery, with a smidge from another, meaning it can't be called a single malt). The spoon is the star of the show on the label – and it's also massive compared to all those people! Imagine the bowl of porridge you could eat with that!
Batch 7 is a release of 750 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Honeyed floral nose, you can imagine the bees when you smell this. Lavender followed by tobacco, fruitcake and a whisper of smoke.
Very full texture, creamy, dark cherry with a peppery edge.
Vanilla and toffee, dark chocolate and chestnut.
I was fortunate to buy this on bargain sale price of £76 in June 2021 (COVID-19 purchase). Lovely Balvenie dram, made lockdown easier, I've savoured every drop and killed the bottle, definitely worth keeping an eye out on it.
