Irish single grain whiskey from Teeling! There are only an elite few Irish single grain whiskies out there at the moment, but Teeling went ahead and made theirs unique by maturing it in Californian Cabernet Sauvignon casks. Deliciously sweet with a good deal of spice and fruit hide within the Teeling Single Grain.
Honeyed apple flesh and red grape, sweet and slightly floral with fragrant vanilla and spice, evaporated milk and brown sugar.
There's treacle on the palate, but it's light and buttery with dried cranberry developing.
Into golden syrup tart and sweet egg custard now with spicy cereal.
This is a thoroughly enjoyable grain whiskey, sweet and fairly light but full of flavour.

Sour, salty buttery caramel nose. Smells a bit shallow. Looks shallow. Then you taste it. Boozy werthers. Fantastic. Very smooth and a bit sweet. Actually surprisingly smooth with a booze hit mid way, then disappearing. Got it $15 off to boot eh. Not worth the price point imo, even with the discount, but opinions are like a*sholes. Still worth a try - it is unique.
I just bought a one liter bottle of Teeling Single grain. I am very sorry that I did. I should have bought a whole case. This is excellent in many ways - aroma, taste and smooth.
A wonderful whiskey. Rich and deep in flavour - as close to a bourbon as you'll get from a whiskey.
Not normally a whiskey drinker or even a liquor drinker for that matter. Tried this as an after dinner sipping drink neat and thoroughly enjoyed flavors and sweetness.
Absolutely love this whiskey. So smooth and fabulous taste! I prefer it to the single malt - which surprised me.
