Teaninich 10yo 2008 MoM Bottling Note

A tremendous little treat from Teaninich, distilled in 2008 and matured in a refill hogshead for a decade. Just 76 bottles of this now join our expansive range of exclusive Master of Malt bottlings, and you know what they* say, "we're so proud of it we put our name on it".

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Warm apple crumble, dusted with roasted nuts and spices lead to more savoury layers of grist and toasted seeded bread.

Palate: Still bready, with fresh brown bread, slathered with creamy butter and set honey. Roasted almonds and citrus oil compliment a festive touch of spice.

Finish: Those crumbly notes from the nose return, with cooked apples, pears, and plums, joined by sweet, cakey spice.

Reviews for Teaninich 10 Year Old 2008 (Master of Malt)
Mild enjoyable whisky reminding me of sake
I've tried a few MoM bottlings, and found them all interesting and enjoyable and value for money. This is another good MoM bottling. It is a very reserved whisky, but I love it, and since I bought it, it has become my go-to bottle.

The nose is mild and pleasant, smelling of grass, lemon, malt and sharp green apple. When I first tried it I thought it had a distinctive, unusual taste. Now that I'm more used to it, it doesn't seem so unusual and reminds me of other mild whiskies like Benriach 10yo. The predominant taste for me is sake, but it has lots of other things going on. It has a mild, clean, creamy, citrus (lemon and grapefruit) intensive palate, with bread and butter notes.

Not the most complex whisky, but I find it very enjoyable.
