An interesting example of independently bottled Teaninich single malt, drawn from a pair of hogshead casks which were filled in 2007 and cracked open after 10 years of maturation in 2017. You don't see a whole lot of Teaninich single malt, as a health proportion of their spirit ends up in blends. This was independently bottled by Càrn Mòr for the Strictly Limited range, producing 725 bottles.
Dried pear, cut grass, caramel and pink peppercorn.
Strawberry sweeties, apple brandy and a hint of smoky heather.
Slightly earthy, though dried fruit still brings sweetness.

For those with a palate sensitive to the 'fiery' nature of many spirits, I really enjoyed the lighter style of this whisky. Having something of a sweet tooth too, I have been charmed by what I can only describe as an overtone of marzipan! I would describe it as an untypical whisky, but with a unique and beguiling character.
Bought this at the Lancashire show in August 2017. Tasted it with no intention of purchasing it. Moments later I couldn't get my wallet out fast enough. The description above is spot on. Well worth the money.
