Mossburn

While Mossburn await the whisky from its Torabhaig distillery to come of age, it has started to independently bottle whiskies from other distilleries! This one is a 10 year old single malt from Teaninich (which we reckon you don't see enough of these days), distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2017 at cask strength.
Aromatic barley mixed with juicy orange and a hint of oat-y salinity.
Spicy oak makes itself known on the palate, soon joined by peanut brittle and cake batter.
A splash of juicy grape appears on the finish.

Bought a bottle of this after a Mossburn tasting. It certainly has the wow factor - very very grassy and strong tasting even after ice/water. tbh for me it’s more interesting rather than overtly enjoyable. However, if you’ve any friends who really know and enjoy their malts (or think they do :-) ), it’s great for pouring for them and getting them to play “guess the dram”.
