Here we have an ace 18 year old Tamnavulin, distilled over in Speyside in the year 2000. Now, we know what you're thinking. "Wasn't Tamnavulin closed between 1995 and 2007?" Right you are, whisky-loving folk, though for a brief five week period in the spring of 2000, the stills were relighted and this wonderful liquid was produced! After it was distilled, the spirit was matured in bourbon and Amoroso Oloroso sherry cask. The whisky remained in these casks for 18 years, before it was bottled in 2019 at 45% ABV.
Thick creamy notes, with a sprinkle of brown sugar, fried banana and cinnamon pastries.
Caramelised nuts, praline notes and cooked orchard fruits, with banoffee pie peeking through.
Runny honey, apple crumble and fresh vanilla custard.
