Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Creamy rice pudding, soft peaches, and fresh apricot are followed by Rich Tea biscuits, delicately floral honey, and a hint of citrus zest.

    Palate

Rich butterscotch opens the gates for a flood of vanilla fudge while enjoyable dustings of baking spice bring a touch of heat beside buttery, peppery oak.

    Finish

Creamy barley rides throughout, with silky, oaken vanilla aplenty.

    Absolutely Splendid!

I have loved Tamnavulin for quite some time. While many take issue with the sweetness of the newer iterations, I find them to be quite refreshing. This age statement version is an absolute must for any collector that likes a nice, strong and flavourful Tamnavulin made whisky.

A nice rare naturally presented Tamnavulin

Nose: fresh cream, lemon citrus, malt vinegar. Palate: Really creamy vanilla that clings to the mouth, butteries, gentle pepper spices, lovely cereal notes. A really nice dram.

Marvellous. Like the Tamnavulin of old

I was one of the few who liked the old Tamnavulin before it was mothballed. I regularly bought Gordon and MacPhail cask-strength Tamnavulin in the old days. My favourite tipple. I was downright disappointed with new stuff when it re-opened. Too sweet, too dark, too much trying to appeal to new customers. Bu this 13 year-old is the real thing. Light coloured, and subtle flavoured. Almost like an Islay in phenol, but not peaty or seaweedy. Most of you won't like it. You had better leave it for me to drink instead.
