Tamdhu reopened in 2012, having been mothballed back in 2009, but this whisky was distilled back in 1971. Back then, the distillery only has a single pair of stills, Apollo 14 was landing on the moon and Charlie George was weaving his magic against Liverpool in an FA Cup final. Gordon & Macphail bottled this release in 2013 at 43% abv, which comes complete with presentation box and tasting glass.
Dried fruit and gentle oak with vanilla and some fragrant tropical fruit as well as a hint of ash.
The mouth-feel is creamy and oily with chocolate raisins and chocolate peanuts plus honeycomb and spices.
Fruity with vanilla.
Tamdhu on top, and classic, form.
