Tamdhu 10 Year Old Bottling Note

Well-sherried single malt from the Tamdhu distillery, aged for a decade in sherry oak casks. As if that wasn't quite wonderful enough, this has been presented in a delightfully retro-styled bottle. Expect a litany of "Ooooh" and "Ahhhh" noises when you whack this on the table after a good meal.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Dried orange peel, red wine, pecan and raspberry jam.

Palate: Soft red fruit followed by brown sugar and spicy clove. A touch of chocolate-covered Brazil nut.

Finish: Crystallised ginger, cacao and juicy blackcurrant.

Tamdhu 10 Year Old Reviews

AVERAGE FOR ME

I think this is okay ... just not for me and I prefer others in the same price bracket.

Underrated

Has to be one of the best 10 year's on the market. Incredibly smooth and rich. Fantastic whiskey, don't know what the last review was talking about. Must have got a fake bottle

Nice bottle, cr@p whisky.

Nose: ryebread, sourdough, German spiced cakes. raw new-make spirit.
mouth: not good, cheap and nasty. artificial tasting - and so much rye.
finish is quite long, but not that enjoyable.

Conclusion: Pretty bottle, but the contents are not that good (unless you like ryebread) - there is something very wrong with this whisky and it ust have changed from the earler higher point scoring expressions, I suspect the whole thing is now made on the cheap and trading on past glory. Avoid.

Good value dram, very impressed considering the cost.

Definitely get red wine and subtle raspberry jam on the nose. Palate you get clove and chocolate with a cocoa and spicy finish.

A great suprise

Really suprised how much I liked this whisky.
Great mouthfeel, smooth, vanilla, wood, fruit, got better over time.
Would definitely buy again and will explore more of the tamdhu expressions.
I am very curious about the cask strength.....
Highly recommended to anyone, also a bargain price. I can’t think of a better 10yr I’ve had.

A dram to savour

What a beautiful wee dram. So smooth and silky. I keep recommending it to friends and it never fails to impress

A keeper

Not too complicated, yet very satisfying and good value too. A great cabinet filler.

Quite unique at a great price

First time I tried a sherried whisky and was nothing like I ever tasted but I can tell it was great.
Tasted a lot like red wine like a merlot to me, some raspberry and bit of spiciness.
My girlfriend doesnt like whisky but as soon as I took the first sip I knew this could probably change her mind.
For the price I have to give it 4.5stars

Artificial

Artificial and very sweet/caramel in taste.

Yes

Highly recommend this. Actually bought bottle on a true experts recommendation and man he wasn’t wrong

A polished effort, the Tamdhu 10 is both sweet and woody and the aftertaste is just superb, much better than many more expensive malts
