Talisker Storm was released in early 2013 as a no age statement whisky, which was matured in specifically selected refill and toasted American oak casks. An intense and vibrant dram, the Storm offers up plenty of distillery character alongside some smokier depth and complexity.
With a classic Talisker profile, a depth of beautiful flavours and a very reasonable price point, this is an ideal single malt for those thinking of exploring malts from the Scottish islands.
Initial brine, but not as abrupt as the 10 Year Old, quite creamy by comparison. Banana. Banana angel delight? Window putty, hint of sticking plasters and barbecues, citrus. White pepper develops towards the bottom of the glass.
Thick and mouth-coating with wood smoke, brine, some tin and chilli heat too.
Red chilli peppers and oak dryness with a hint of embers.
A welcome addition to the Talisker range, and probably the smokiest whisky to be produced on the Isle of Skye.

This is a disappointing drop. I didn't expect a great deal from it, given the price, but I may only serve this to guests I don't like very well. I love the traditional island whiskies; I keep three expressions of Laphroaig, three of Ardbeg, two of Lagavulin and one Bowmore on hand. This is rough and young and a poor introduction to smoky, peaty whisky. For the money, get the Laphroaig 10-year or the Ardbeg 10-year.
I have no idea what is wrong with other people. This is such a great tasting bottle! I gave it 4 stars because I would like it to be slightly smoother. I must say though that it does deliver on the "storm"! It is Smoky and Delicious and I want more!
Somewhat lacking. Might be a good introduction to the smokier malts but for the price you could do a lot better
I love the Distillers Edition and the Port Ruighe so thought I'd give this one a shot. It's very different, peppery and very coastal. More salinity than any whisky I've tasted. I liked it, a nice change from the many sweet expressions there are, though thought the finish was a little short.
Gross. Awful. Foul. I enjoy scotch this was by far the worst scotch of all time. No shame in dumping the bottle
