Very complex, Harmony of sweet notes and light peat, spicy, fresh, dark fruits for your nose, little salt. Highly recommendable. Great Whisky for a good price.
2000 blows it away far more depth
Only reason it doesn't get 10 out of 10 is because the 1998 distillers edition was so much better. Still a beautiful whiskey, but you won't find any nowadays.
Peaty and fruity, no bitterness and long as a day without a woman, very well done, right there challenging one of my Top 3, the Yamazaki 18.
I first found Talisker back in 1976 when i was working at the Kirkstile Inn Loweswater. I was 18 then and my interest in whisky started. I have roamed around many distilleries and tasted there products but I always come back to Talisker. My son bought me a bottle of Talisker 1999 Amoroso Finish when he was there recently and I have refound my initial passion for this exquisite Brand. Nothing else compares as far as I'm concerned.
