Talisker 14 Year Old ‘Molten Seas’ continues the theme of experimental single malts from Skye featuring in the Diageo Special Releases. The 2025 edition was matured in volcanic rock-toasted American oak, giving this whisky an elemental, smoky edge to its maritime character.
Sea spray and maritime ozone give way to bonfire ash, cracked black pepper, and liquorice root, layered over charred oak. Hints of roasted hazelnut and smoked pineapple emerge.
Oily and powerful, with maritime smoke wrapped around salted caramel, black pepper, and grilled tropical fruit. A savoury backbone of seaweed and smoked shellfish adds depth.
Hot, smoky embers fade into cracked peppercorn, brine, and an earthy volcanic char.
