Strathmill’s oily character is much celebrated, and this suave bottling from independent bottler WM Cadenhead is as smooth as Ferris Bueller on his epic day off. From the Keith-based distillery, located on the edge of Speyside, this 24 year old Strathmill was drawn two ex-bourbon hogsheads and is both dessert-like and aromatic. One of just 354 bottles.
Airy, aromatic citrus peels, lemon gelato, heather and a suggestion of fresh mint. Vanilla, too.
Bit like a cream tea bolstered with black cherry and vanilla: think strawberry jam, toasted scones, and a super creamy mouthfeel.
Medium length and thick like honey. Delicious.
