A single cask single malt from Strathmill, tantalisingly named Butterscotch Ice Cream after its flavour profile. The Speysider was allowed to rest in a hogshead from 1994 until 2018, when it was bottled by Wemyss Malts, in a limited outturn of 277 bottles.
Of course, butterscotch is at the fore, alongside other decadent sweet notes of toffee and honey, accompanied by complex malty tones, think scones and clotted cream.
A creamy mouthfeel, with scatterings of vanilla pod and even more toffee and honey, balanced by fresh, crunchy apples and pears.
Lovely butterscotch and toffee return on a clean finish.
