Single Malt

This is a 1972 Strathisla bottled by independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail. Strathisla is one of the oldest distilleries in the Highlands and even has its own waterwheel!
Christmas cake and rum-soaked raisins form a big sherried nose with mixed spice dancing in the background.
This whisky tastes of raisins and spices with a little chocolate covered almonds in the background.
The finish is long and complex with notes of Christmas pudding and green apples.
This is a heavily sherried whisky with a surprising vitality for its age.
