Strathisla 1972 Bottling Note

This is a 1972 Strathisla bottled by independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail. Strathisla is one of the oldest distilleries in the Highlands and even has its own waterwheel!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Christmas cake and rum-soaked raisins form a big sherried nose with mixed spice dancing in the background.

Palate: This whisky tastes of raisins and spices with a little chocolate covered almonds in the background.

Finish: The finish is long and complex with notes of Christmas pudding and green apples.

Overall: This is a heavily sherried whisky with a surprising vitality for its age.
