15-year-old single malt from Strathisla, independently bottled by Darkness. This whisky spent a finishing period in a custom-made Pedro Ximénez sherry octave. The tiny cask ensured plenty of interaction between the wood and the whisky, thus heaps of PX influence here.
Sweet, spiced mocha and polished oak, with a touch of caramel and leather nestling beneath.
Woody spice leads the way, with notes of sandalwood and cinnamon sticks backed by buttery shortbread, sultanas, and biscuity malt.
Dense notes of clove linger for the finish, with candied orange, fruit pastries, and cigar box spice.
