Strathisla 12 Year Old

Strathisla 12 Year Old is a fruity and sherry-rich single malt from one of the oldest Scottish distilleries in operation (and a very handsome one at that - the pair of pagodas atop Strathmill make for a very striking image on the horizon). A perfect single malt for people new to the wonders of whisky,as its easy to sip and enjoy the sweet toffee flavour.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Soft oak and hints of candied peel. A little floral character too, with notes of spice and Danish pastries.

Palate Malty core with notes of sultanas and cinnamon pastries. Allspice, cooked apple and mince pies.

Finish Long finish. Very fruity.

Overall A good all-rounder - excellent value for money...

My absolute favourite whisky...
My absolute favourite whisky, from the very day I visited the distillery 30 or so years ago. It is a very smooth whisky, that warms all the way down your throat… lovely.

This is just a fantastic whisky, the perfect nightcap. I was lucky that my niece bought a bottle for me last Christmas.

needs to breath
When I first opened the bottle I was not blown away but as it has neared the half way point it has opened up lots. Sweet and tasty

a lovely dram
I thoroughly enjoy this whisky particularly for its long after taste. The problem now is that I seem not to be able to purchase it any more! Why is this? Can somebody tell me?

Am still looking here in the states for the 12 year Strathisla
Just came back from Scotland and talked to the Strathisla distillery. Told them that I no longer could find it in the states. They changed the label, and it is now available under the label as Chivas Regal Strathisla. As info, Chivas Regal 18 yr olds blend is comprised of mostly Strathisla and is real smooth and taste even better.

Try it if you can still find a bottle!
I've heard this has been discontinued which is a shame. This whisky is one of the best quality/price single malt I've tasted.
You won't find any good Speyside single malt at this price.
