Another colossal single grain Scotch joins the collection of Master of Malt exclusive bottlings! Hailing from the Strathclyde distillery, this one spent three and a half decades maturing between 1987 and 2022, when a total of 242 bottles were drawn from the single barrel in which it dwelled. The majority of grain produced at Strathclyde goes into a whole host of well-known blends like Ballantine's. The distillery doesn't release any of its own official bottlings, but now and then, indie bottlers like us have the luck of getting their hands on a cask.

Slightly tangy underripe plums open the way before creamier notes of apricot and buttery pastry take hold. Fruity banana bread, mellow oak, and zesty candied orange.
Buttery caramel coats the palate, with generous layers of creamy vanilla gushing behind. Butter biscuits and brioche join, while woody spice nestles in the depths.
Candied ginger brings warming touch, with caramelised stone fruits and roasted walnuts, rich oak, and vanilla buttercream.
Absolutely stunning. They aren't lying when they say it smells like plums! For the price I honestly don't think you'll find anything better. Ordering a second bottle as soon as I'm done typing this review.
