Excellent single grain Scotch whisky from the Strathclyde distillery, bottled as part of the Old Particular range by Douglas Laing. It was aged in a refill barrel from August 1990 to March 2017, then bottled at 26 years old with an outturn of just 174 bottles.
Fried banana, clove, ice cream and walnut.
Vanilla, buttery biscuits, a good whack of warming oak spice.
Runny honey and caramel, with black pepper appearing right at the end.

What can I say, I’ve always wondered what a whiskey my age would taste like, what a shame it’s out of stock, drank every last bit over a few weeks and didn’t realise it’s limited bottles. Very warm drink, taste of oak and toffee as well as hints of pine followed by a large warming sensation, worth every penny, waiting for another to come in stock
